So, I'm going to write a novel. Yes, a full-blown, 50,000 word (roughly 175 page) novel. There's this thing known as National Novel Writing Month every November, where the challenge is to produce a 50,000 word novel between November 1 and 30. I've always wanted to write a book and having some kind of schedule and accountability would be awesome to actually bring that to pass. However, November is in the midst of school and nearing the end of the semester, where I will likely have much reading and writing to do anyway, so the last thing I'd want to do (and honestly should do) then would be to write a book. Which brings us to now. I love the idea, so I simply moved it to July, since I don't have classes, homework or other such things to pre-occupy my time.
I will begin July 1st and write approximately 1,613 words per day (around 5 double-spaced pages). I'll likely post the writing the day after it's been written, making the first post of the novel on July 2nd.
This blog exists for you, my family and friends and perhaps strangers that somehow ended up here, to read along and discover what happens in serialized fashion. It'll be an adventure. If you have any thoughts, comments, questions or suggestions as you read, I would love to hear them, I've never written a book before, so any insight as to how I could improve would be appreciated.
I hope you enjoy reading and discovering with me. Without further ado, enter the world of The Light Schism... (tentative title. Is it intriguing? Awesome? Dull? Bleh? Meh?)
